#AMonthofFaves : December First – Books

Posted 1 December, 2015 by April @ The Steadfast Reader in memes, musings

Going to go ahead and start these posts with no promise of finishing them. A Month of favorite books (and bookish things)!

Number of books read this year (so far)  88 of the 105 that I’ve challenged myself to, today that puts me eight books behind schedule so I need some fast, quick, amazing reads. Suggestions?

Genres? Honestly, I haven’t been great at the tracking this year so I have to go off of Goodreads. It tells me that most of my books fall into the ‘other’ category, with literary fiction and horror falling close behind.

Et cetera …  I’m going to tell you without looking that the majority what I read were eBooks that I purchased myself. Though towards the end of this year I’ve taken a shine to audio, probably because my job leaves me so mentally exhausted I can hardly do anything else.

What about you, Reader? How’s your year of reading going? Join me at Estella’s Revenge for #AMonthofFaves!

  • Ugh, my job has been leaving me mentally exhausted, too. Maybe I need to take up audiobooks!

    • I like them for going to sleep at night. When I hit my sleepiest point I hit the bookmark button and then can return to that the next night 🙂

  • 88 books read….nice. I am sure you will make it to 108.

I always set my goal low – 50 – and usually make it and most times surpass it by at least five. Did that all but last year. Never made my 50.

ENJOY the rest of your week.

    My A Month of Faves

  • I wish I’d take a shine to audio. My husband loves it, so we have scads in our Audible account, and I have a significant commute, but I tend to favor podcasts.

    • My sister is the same way, though she did power through Franzen’s ‘Freedom’ on audio. I need to balance out things with more podcasts in my life 🙂 I hear ‘Serial’ is getting a new season.

  • We’re polar opposites. Never read an audiobook … can’t do the ebook.

  • I’ve done audio on and off this year. And same things with eBooks – I go through phases all the time.

    • I don’t really see e-Books as a phase for me. I always prefer them, if for nothing else than I can read them with the lights off 🙂
